This year I didn't want to sit around waiting for a check after dinner, or worry about splitting the check so I came up with this idea to host a beautiful boho style brunch. Whenever I start to plan anything I become consumed with ideas and all I can think about is executing my vision perfectly. And I must say my Birthday Brunch was everything I hoped it would be. I find such peace in finding the perfect flowers, pillows, tableware and any other little knick knacks to help tie it all together. In my next life I will be an Interior Designer/ Event planner. Well here are a few photos and details from the event.
Decor: I had the wood pallets from my bed frame. I found the flowers from Joann's, I also found some cool pine cones and pumpkins from Walmart. The pillows came from my patio furniture, along with the black blankets I had in storage. (Don't worry -- I got a new bed frame and needed to put the pallets to use one last time)
Table ware: I found these cute menu's and welcome signs from Party City along with the placemats. Another idea is to make the brunch a potluck so that you are not paying for the decor and food all by yourself, because it all adds up. Because we did a potluck I didn't want to write the food menu down. So instead, we wrote the drink menu. (People back out or change their mind on what they will bring. It always happens, so plan ahead)
Here is the Food Menu:
- Salad
-Fruit
-Cheese
-Donuts
-Muffins and Cinnamon Rolls
-Chick-Fil-A Nuggets
-Nothing Bundt Cake (best cake ever)
BALLOONS! This was my favorite part. These are 24in Balloons from Party City. I like these balloons better than the popular number balloons for a birthday when it isn't a significant year such as 21, 25, 30 etc., but that's just my opinion. Do what YOU want because it's YOUR birthday.
In all honesty, I usually have a lot of anxiety around my birthday, thinking of all the things I didn't accomplish, and looking at everyone else's lives, wondering why I don't have "this" and why I'm not at "this" point. But this year, all I felt was a tremendous amount of Gratitude. This year I really took time to reflect on how great my life is. And I give all glory to God. I Close my 22nd chapter with love and light and I open chapter 23 with focus and determination. I have so many goals for myself and I'm ready to work hard enough to obtain them. Go out and make your dreams happen.
Huge shout out to all my friends and family who helped me become a better me over this past year.
I am surrounded by so many amazing people.
